T.Ty Fowler, M.D.

Dr. T. Ty Fowler practices orthopaedics with a special interest in hip and pelvis preservation and reconstruction as well as orthopaedic trauma. His specific interests include pelvic and acetabular fractures; peri-acetabular osteotomies (treatment of hip dysplasia); surgical hip dislocation; total hip arthroplasty (direct anterior approach); complex peri-articular and long bone fractures; and malunions and nonunions. Dr. Fowler serves as the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Mount Carmel West. He has contributed to multiple medical journals and presented on a range of topics including novel fixation techniques, treatments for bony non-unions, open traumatic fractures, traumatic shoulder girdle injuries and gluteal compartment syndrome as a result of hip dislocation. His work has earned him several research grants, including a 2009 grant from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. A member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Fowler has also donated his time as a medical volunteer as part of the Himalayan Health Exchange in Leh, India. While there, he provided much-needed medical services to roughly 1,200 underserved Tibetan refugee colonies. Dr. Fowler and his wife reside in Columbus, Ohio.
