Joseph F. Wilcox, M.D.

Dr. Joseph Wilcox is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship-trained in sports medicine. He has received extensive training in the operative and non-operative treatment of a wide variety of sports medicine injuries. He has a strong interest in minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery, and he specializes in the state of the art treatment of cartilage injuries and conditions. He began practicing in central Ohio at Northeast Orthopedics, Inc. in 2001 with Dr. Merle L. Kennedy. In May 2010, both physicians joined The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute. He attended Worthington High School in Worthington, Ohio, and received an appointment to the United States Military Academy, where he was a member of the Army Varsity football team. He transferred after an injury to the University of Cincinnati, where he graduated with honors. During his fellowship training at The Ohio State University, he cared for numerous Division I varsity athletes including football, basketball, wrestling and swimming. Dr. Wilcox is the orthopaedic consultant to Otterbein College and Kenyon College, and volunteers his time as a team physician for Westerville Central High School and the regional Westerville Worms Rugby Team. He enjoys educating and teaching in the community and has been a guest lecturer at several local high schools and colleges. He currently resides in Dublin, Ohio, with his wife and three children. His other interests include mountain biking, skiing and wakeboarding. |
