Columbus Business First announces 2011 Health Care Heroes honorees
Columbus, Ohio -- On Tuesday, July 12, 2011, three physicians at The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute were named "Health Care Heroes" by an independent panel of judges from across the State assembled by Columbus Business First in conjunction with its annual award initiative, Health Care Heroes. Dr. Robert Turner, Dr. Jonathan Feibel and Dr. Joel Politi were recognized for outstanding innovation and service to patients, community and the underserved in central Ohio.
“Only one other health care entity received as many accolades as The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute,” said CEO Dale Ingram. “I believe this speaks to the depth of compassion and expertise represented within our roster of 28 orthopaedic and musculoskeletal physicians.”
Dr. Robert Turner received an honorable mention within the Provider award category in recognition of not only the level of compassion and care he provide his patients daily, but his commitment to providing physician coverage to underserved athletes within the central Ohio community . The Provider category recognizes a medical practitioner, including but not limited to doctors and nurses, for exemplary performance in the health care field.
Dr. Jonathan Feibel received an honorable mention within the Care for the Underserved (Individual) category for his involvement and leadership within the Mount Carmel Foundation, and his role in founding the Physician's Philanthropy Committee. The Care for the Underserved category lauds a person or organization for developing a program that provided access to health care of improved the quality of medical care to underserved populations.
Dr. Joel Politi received honorable mention within the Innovator (Program) category for his role as founding surgeon of COSI's award-winning Surgical Suite: Total Knee Replacement. The Innovator category recognizes a person, organization or company for a breakthrough in medical technology, research or delivery of care. We also recognize the contributions of Dr. Bryan Chambers, a fellow surgeon with The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute, for his ongoing participation in the program.
