Practice welcomes two new physicians
THE CARDINAL ORTHOPAEDIC INSTITUTE WELCOMES TWO NEW PHYSICIANS TO GROWING PRACTICE
COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute, central Ohio's largest and most comprehensive orthopaedic practice group, recently welcomed Dr. T. Ty Fowler and Dr. Daniel Quinn.
T. Ty Fowler, M.D.
Dr. T. Ty Fowler received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and performed his orthopaedic residency at Mount Carmel Health System, followed by an extensive fellowship within the Department of Orthpaedic Trauma Surgery at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
Dr. Fowler maintains a special interest in hip and pelvis preservation and reconstruction as well as orthopaedic trauma. His specific interests include pelvic and acetabular fractures; peri-acetabular osteotomies (treatment of hip dysplasia); surgical hip dislocation; total hip arthroplasty (direct anterior approach); complex peri-articular and long bone fractures; and malunions and nonunions.
Dr. Fowler serves as the Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at Mount Carmel West. He has contributed to multiple medical journals and presented on a range of topics including novel fixation techniques, treatments for bony non-unions, open traumatic fractures, traumatic shoulder girdle injuries and gluteal compartment syndrome as a result of hip dislocation. His work has earned him several research grants, including a 2009 grant from the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
A member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Fowler has also donated his time as a medical volunteer as part of the Himalayan Health Exchange in Leh, India. While there, he provided much-needed medical services to roughly 1,200 underserved Tibetan refugee colonies.
Dr. Fowler and his wife reside in Columbus, Ohio. His extracurricular pursuits include snowboarding, hiking, international travel and guitar.
He is available to see patients at the Hilliard/Dublin office and holds privileges at the following hospitals: Mount Carmel West, Grant Medical Center and Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Daniel Quinn, M.D.
Dr. Daniel Quinn received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine and performed his orthopaedic residency at The Ohio State University, followed by an extensive fellowship at the Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center in Indianapolis.
Dr. Quinn is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity care and surgery. He is the fourth fellowship-trained hand and upper extremity surgeon within the practice.
He has contributed to multiple medical journals and presented on a range of topics including overuse injuries in the pediatric throwing athlete and CMC arthroplasty of the thumb.
Dr. Quinn recently donated his time as a medical volunteer on a mission trip to Nicaragua, where he provided much-needed medical services to families in area medical clinics and local villages.
Dr. Quinn, his wife and two children reside in Upper Arlington. His extracurricular pursuits include jogging, golf, basketball and football.
He is available to see patients at the Westerville - Northeast, Gahanna/Reynoldsburg and Canal Winchester office locations and holds privileges at the following hospitals: Mount Carmel East, Mount Carmel St. Ann's and Nationwide Children's Hospital.
With the addition of Drs. Fowler and Quinn, The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute now boasts 29 board-certified or board-eligible orthopaedic surgeons and musculoskeletal physicians with an inclusive list of specialties, including: general orthopaedic care; total joint replacement; foot and ankle care; sports medicine; neck and spine surgery; physical medicine and rehabilitation; hand and upper extremity care; scoliosis surgery; knee and shoulder surgery.
