Spirit Sprint 5k Run/Walk
We are gearing up to host our 3rd Annual Cardinal Orthopaedic Spirit Sprint 5k Run/Walk event on Sunday, April 29 at 9am.
Date: April 29, 2012
Time: Race starts at 9am; Registration opens at 8am
Where: The Cardinal Orthopaedic Institute's Gahanna/Reynoldsburg Office
Entry Fee: $20 early registration; $25 April 1 through race day
All registrants receive an event tech shirt, goodie bag and refreshments.
Event Details:
With your help, we want to provide assistance to local athletic programs, specifically students and families who may be unable to cover participation fees for athletic and extracurricular activities. For those parents already struggling to meet their children's most basic needs, we understand the hardship these fees can create. But we also appreciate the positive impact athletic and extracurricular programming can have on students.
For the past two years, we have organized and hosted this unique event in conjunction with Gahanna and Reynoldsburg school districts. In April 2012, we are looking forward including several additional schools to the event. The school with the most participation is awarded the largest percentage of the event proceeds with all participating schools receiving a portion of the funds generated based on their level of participation.
Participating schools as of 02/13/2012:
* Gahanna Lions
* Reynoldsburg Raiders
* Groveport Cruisers
This successful, family-friendly event has raised more than $8,900 in support of school initiatives. Last year alone, Gahanna schools walked away with $4,686, which they applied toward participation fees for the girls' cross country team.
Not affiliated with a participating school? Neutral runners are welcome, too! In fact, we encourage anyone interested in leading an active and healthy lifestyle to join the Cardinal team and walk or run alongside our physicians and staff.
The day will feature family-friendly fun, including:
-bounce houses,
-music,
-mascots,
-great prizes,
-free food and more!
